Honda BF135AK2 LCU are optimized to offer more power for a wide range of different boats. The firm, smooth output this advanced technology offers is sure to put a smile on your face as you venture out on the water.

VTEC™ is an efficient system included in the Honda BF135AK2 LCU outboard that keeps fuel consumption down while delivering an exciting increase in power. First used on Honda's Formula One cars, it delivers increased power and torque at all rpm. In the BF100 it works by using two different cams:
1) When the engine is running at low velocity, the valves are operated by a cam less aggressively ensuring low fuel consumption and excellent performance.
2) When more output is desired, as rpm increases to 4500 rpm, the VTEC™ system hydraulically operates a cam with a higher lift profile. This keeps the valves open longer, drawing more air into the combustion chamber to produce optimum power, like a Formula One race car. At this point, the engine takes on a completely different personality, and it will be evident both to the ear and in performance.

The Honda BF135AK2 LCU outboard features BLAST™ ready-start technology that gets the engine up to speed in seconds. The BLAST™ (Boosted Low Speed Torque) delivers high torque even at low velocity by releasing powerful thrust from startup. The ECU automatically advances the ignition timing, while simultaneously increasing the fuel-to-air ratio to give more boost from low velocity. This innovative technology patented for Honda's 4-stroke engines has become the benchmark in 4-stroke engine design.

Honda's dual-stage air induction works with a shuttle valve built into the Variable Air Intake (VAI) manifold. When fully open, this valve changes the resonance and airflow generating more torque at low velocity. When the throttle valve is fully open and velocity increases, the cooling valve closes and creates a direct airflow to the engine.

Honda BF135AK2 LCU is equipped with ECOmo's special poor-blend combustion control ensures significant fuel economy right through RPM and performance. Once at velocity, you consume much less fuel. Maintaining this RPM and staying there gives the best result. Once you reach cruising speed, ECOmo automatically and intelligently adjusts the correct air/fuel ratio for that speed. Normally it operates in the green zone (shown on the dial) or when the green Eco light comes on (if you have multifunctional gauges).

Honda BF135AK2 LCU models are NMEA2000® compliant. There is no need to modify the wiring because everything is set up. Simply plug the engine into the CANbus network for full connectivity and control. Then the engine can be connected to other NMEA devices such as the navigation system, GPS, sonar devices, fishfinder and chartplotter. All information, including engine data, will be displayed via the multifunctional indicators.

Precise low-speed control is just as important as high-speed handling, especially while fishing. The optional rudder control, through the control bar, simply adjusts speed in 50 rpm increments, making it ideal for fishing.
