SINCRO AVR BL4 115V/230V

SINCRO AVR BL4 is an Automatic Voltage Regulator, a device able to stabilize the output voltage of a generator set to power electronic equipment.

SINCRO AVR BL4 is a phase controlled half wave thyristor and is part of the alternator excitation system.

In addition to alternator voltage regulation, SINCRO AVR BL4 circuit includes the under-speed
protection features. The excitation power comes directly from the alternator terminals.

Positive residual voltage accumulation is ensured by the use of efficient semiconductors in the SINCRO AVR power supply circuit.
SINCRO AVR BL4 is connected with the main stator windings and exciter field windings to provide control to the output voltage circuit.

In addition to being powered by the main stator, the SINCRO AVR BL4 also derives a sample voltage from the output windings for voltage control. In response to this sample voltage, SINCRO AVR BL4 controls the exciter field power supply to the exciter field, and then to the main field, to keep the machine output within the specified limits, compensating for load, speed, temperature and alternator power supply.

A frequency measuring circuit continuously monitors the alternator output and provides protection against under-speed output, reducing the output voltage proportionally to the speed below a preset threshold. A manual adjustment is provided for factory setting of the under frequency threshold, (UF). This can be easily changed to 50 or 60 Hz with two switches.

A remote voltage potentiometer is provided for connection, which allows the user to
alternator output control.

SINCRO AVR BL4 is also equipped with a fuse which is used to limit the input power supply current in order to protect the alternator.
