The product is supplied with a 7.5-meter cable.
KOHLER® Power System Remote Start Panel for Marine Generators
This KOHLER® Power System remote start panel is designed to enable starting and stopping the generator from a location away from the genset.
It is compatible with generator sets equipped with the Decision-Maker® 3500 controller.
For a complete understanding of the features and specifications, please refer to the attached technical datasheet.
The product is supplied with a 7.5-meter cable.
Features and Functions:
Remote Control: Allows remote start and stop via a rocker switch, which also includes a preheat function.
Hour Meter: The panel features a built-in hour meter that tracks total engine runtime, useful for maintenance planning. It is recommended to always use the same hour meter for scheduling maintenance.
Safety and Installation:
Safety Precautions: Before working on the generator, shut it down to prevent accidental starts, which may cause serious injury or death. Always disconnect battery cables, removing the negative (-) terminal first and reconnecting it last.
Installation Procedure:
Shut down the generator (turn off the master control, disconnect the battery charger if present, and disconnect battery cables starting with the negative).
Choose a dry location for mounting the panel (helm or deck), considering the cable length and panel size. Minimum clearance behind the panel must be 76.2 mm (3 inches).
Mount the panel using 2 screws (not provided).
Connect the 6-pin extension cable connector to the remote panel.
Connect the other end of the extension cable to the terminal block (TB12) inside the generator’s junction box.
Use rubber grommets and cable ties to protect and secure the cable. Installation must comply with USCG CFR Title 33 Parts 183.425 to 183.460.
Return the generator to service (make sure it is off, reconnect the battery and charger if present, start and stop the generator while monitoring the hour meter).
