The hand pump is the oldest simple machine in human history. A model, called the Ctesibian machine, was found in Bolsena, near Rome, in the house of Liberio Gallo, founder of one of the most important fabrorum colleges, during the Roman Empire. It represents the first type of manual pump produced by an advanced company. For 2000 years engineering has developed the know-how related to the pumps, to achieve performance of head, flow, compatibility and reliability very high.
